While studying Environmental Design at Art Center College of Design, Colin was introduced to the distinction of "place" versus "space" and realized that the most powerful and positive designed experiences happen in projects that build on and celebrate authentic geographical, social, and historical context.
Consequently, he found the most fulfilling phases of the design process to be research and ideation, and focused his attention towards projects that hinged on elements of community-building and culture.
His 10 years of professional experience since include working with Materials and Applications, a non-profit experimental public arts and architecture group based in Los Angeles, Commune Design, one of southern California's most celebrated interior design studios, Lab Holding LLC, an Orange County boutique retail developer, The Natural History Museum of LA County, and a slew of other organizations as a freelancer. In addition to his work with Xsense, Colin is currently a lead designer for a restaurant group, tattoo artist, and youth capoeira instructor in Seattle.
