Born and raised in the United States, Michael Neuman has lived and worked around the globe. He is Professor of Sustainable Urbanism at the University of Westminster, UK and principal of the Michael Neuman Consultancy. Dr. Neuman is an international expert in sustainable development, planning, design and infrastructure.
Professor Neuman's award-winning practice and research integrate urbanism, planning, design, engineering, sustainability, infrastructure, and governance. Renowned for innovation and creativity, he has advised the mayors of Barcelona, San Francisco, Oakland, Sydney, and Wroclaw; the Regional Plan Association of New York, the Barcelona Metropolitan Plan, and other governments and private clients around the world. He is the multi-award winning author of seven books and numerous articles, reports, and plans that have been translated into ten languages.
